HCM City (VNA) – As many as 15,000 enterprises, cooperatives, and business households are expected to take part in surveys and assessments of the competitiveness capacity of departments, agencies, and the People's Committees of districts and Thu Duc city.

The information was unveiled at a meeting organised on December 16 by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to launch the implementation of the Department and District Competitiveness Index (DDCI HCMC) 2022.

Up to 8,000 enterprises will assess the local sector (22 districts and Thu Duc city), and 7,000 will evaluate the departments and agencies. The response rate is estimated to reach 25-30% .

Dao Minh Chanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of HCM City, said that DDCI HCMC 2022 comprised eight indicators, including transparency and information access; activeness and efficiency of departments, agencies, and local authorities; time costs; unofficial costs; fair competition; business support activities; legal institutions and order security, and the roles of heads of departments, agencies, and local authorities. Land access and stability in land use will also be taken into consideration when assessing localities.

The municipal People’s Committee called on the community of entrepreneurs, businesses, associations, cooperatives, and business households to engage in the surveys objectively and substantively to deliver a correct outlook.

According to Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the HCM City People's Committee, the DDCI assessment will help units and localities recognise their strengths and limitations, thereby promoting or making adjustments to create a more favourable environment for investment, production, and business activities in all fields. The DDCI will be carried out by independent units to ensure fairness and objectivity, he said.

The DDCI assessment will last until the end of January next year and its results will be announced in mid-March./.
