The exhibition looks at Vietnam’s seasduring five periods, namely the prehistoric period, the 3rd century BCto the 10th century, the 11th century to the 12th century, the 16th century to the 18th century, and from the 19th century totoday.
The event aims to provide people of ethnic minorities inLang Son with information on Vietnam’s seas and islands and its historyof maritime trade with foreign countries, thus arousing national prideand raising people’s awareness of protecting the country’s sacredsovereignty.
The exhibition, co-organised by the Lang Sonprovincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the VietnamNational Museum of History, is also an activity to celebrate the 20thanniversary of the establishment of the Lang Son Provincial Museum (June24, 1993-2013).
At the opening ceremony, 144 artifacts andantiquities relating to Vietnam’s seas and islands were donated to theVietnam National Museum of History.
