Exhibition highlights Vietnam-Cambodia ties

Hanoi(VNA) – An exhibition themed “Vietnam - Destination of Cambodia in 2017” openedin Cambodiana hotel of Cambodia’s capital city of Phnom Penh on December 18 aspart of activities to mark the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam-Cambodiadiplomatic ties.

The two-day event drewVietnamese Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Hoang Vinh Bao,Cambodian Minister of Culture and Fine Art Khim Sarith, Vietnamese appointed Ambassadorto Cambodia Vu Quang Minh, representatives from embassies of countries inCambodia and the Vietnamese community in the country.

Addressing the openingof the exhibition, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Hoang VinhBao said that the event aims to give visitors an overall view on the political,cultural, economic and diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cambodia.

Nearly 300 photos andover 100 documents also introduced the culture, landscape and people of Vietnamin the integration and reform period, he said, adding that the organisationboard hopes to bring Vietnam closer to Cambodian people, thus fostering the traditionalfriendship and all-round cooperation between the two nations.

Vietnam-Cambodiacooperation achievements and experience are also highlighted at the exhibition.

For his part, KhimSarith said that this year, the exhibition is among major activities jointlyheld by both countries to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their diplomaticties, which helps forge connectivity and exchange between the two peoples.-VNA
