The construction of a meeting hall and a library the Royal Cambodian Army’s Special Airborne Brigade 911 began in Kandal province on July 28 with the Vietnamese fund.

The works, worth over 300,000 USD financed by the Vietnamese Ministry of Defence, will cover 1,400 sq.m. and take 18 months to complete.

General Mop Sarun, Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, hailed the facilities as a symbol of the two armies’ cooperation and a practical contribution to the friendship between the two countries.

Under an agreement between the two defence ministries, the Vietnamese side will provided an assistance of 21.6 million USD for Cambodia in 2014 to support equipment procurement, training and health care. More than 2 million USD of which will be spent on basic construction projects.-VNA
