Hanoi (VNA) – Most of Filipinos expressed their satisfaction over President Rodrigo Duterte’s performance and his policies, according to a survey of the Pulse Asia Research Inc. released on January 8.

The survey showed that Duterte’s overall approval at 80 percent. In addition, up to 82 percent of the respondents said they maintain trust in the former Mayor of Davao city of Mindanao.

Both Vice President Maria Leonor Robredo and Senate President Aquilino Pimentel received an approval rating of nearly 60 percent.

The survey was conducted in December 2017 across the Philippines with 1,200 respondents of 18 years old and above.

Lauding the results of the survey, spokesperson of the Philippine President Hary Roque called on Filipinos to stay united and support government policies, aiming to alleviate poverty and tackle criminals, especially drug dealers, and corruption.

Duterte took office in June 2016 and his tenure runs until 2022. Since then, he has ordered various operations against drug criminals.-VNA
