Paris (VNA) – French police have arrested five Vietnamese hiding inside a truck in an attempt to enter the UK illegally.

The management board of the Calais prison in northern France on November 5 invited That Peel, a Vietnamese expatriate, to help them complete the dossier of the case.

That Peel confirmed that all the arrested are men, who were born in 1997 and 1998 and came from Vietnam’s central provinces.

The men are not among the migrants residing in jungle camps in Calais which were dismantled by French police last week, she said.

They confessed that they illegally travelled through several European countries including Germany and Hungary before arriving in France. Their final destination is the UK where the men think they can easily acquire high-paying jobs.

They used false names and documents supplied by human traffickers to sneak into France. However, the traffickers then got back all the papers. Their original passports have also been taken by the traffickers.

The prison’s chief judge in charge of freedom is scheduled to meet the Vietnamese illegal migrants on November 6.-VNA
