Addressing theevent, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan said that the VietnameseGovernment has decided to include Japanese language in its secondaryeducation programme and will work with Japan to upgrade someuniversities in Vietnam and establish a Japanese university in thecountry to equip people with first-rate skills.
Thenumbers of Vietnamese students, post-graduates and apprentices in Japanhave been increasing, he said, adding that Vietnam has implemented acooperation model between its educational sector and foreign countries,including Japan to ensure high-quality human resources for economicdevelopment.
Vietnam-Japan cooperation in educationand training has great potential and will boost the two countries’strategic partnership, Nhan affirmed.
On behalf ofthe Japanese Government, Deputy Minister of Education, Culture, Sports,Science and Technology Teru Fukui presented the country’s educationalstrategy, including a policy to attract foreign students.
Japan has actively promoted educational cooperation withVietnam through Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA)projects and between the two countries’ universities.
The two governments have agreed to train high-tech specialists andstrengthen their ties in cultural and people-to-people exchanges, headded.
At the forum, Vietnamese Deputy Minister ofEducation and Training Tran Quang Quy said cooperation with Japan ineducation, training and human resources development is of high priority.
Quy expressed his hope that the two sides willboost cooperation in ongoing projects, adding that the VietnameseGovernment and ministry will do their utmost to effectively carry outeducational cooperation agreements between the two countries.
Representatives from Vietnamese and Japanese ministries anduniversities also presented measures to foster bilateral ties ineducation, training, science, technology and human resourcesdevelopment.-VNA
