Fourth Vietnam-China border committee meeting concludes

During the two-day session, the two sides spoke highly of their efficient coordination over the year, agreeing to uphold the partnership in addressing rising problems.

They were pleased to witness the outcomes of cooperation between the two countries’ relevant agencies and border localities in border management and defence in accordance with their three reached documents, namely the Protocol on Border Demarcation and Marker Placement, the Agreement on Border Management Regulations and the Agreement on Border Gates and Border Gate Management Regulations.

The two sides also reached a consensus on opening and upgrading their border gates, building works to stabilise the border and markers, tightening entry and exit order and cooperating in controlling crime so as to create conditions for the land border area to develop.

A plan for 2014’s partnership was reached, homing in on negotiations and signing an agreement on exploiting and protecting tourism resources at Ban Gioc waterfalls and another one on free navigation at the mouth of the Bac Luan River.

The next session will be hosted by China in 2014.-VNA
