As many as 80 children with cleft lips and palates receive free surgeries under a programme taking place in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak from August 24 to 28.
The children are mostly from ethnic minority families in impoverished districts of the Central Highlands provinces of Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Gia Lai and Kon Tum, and central Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa.
They are provided with exams and surgeries by doctors from the Hanoi-based Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital.
The programme is jointly organised by the Dak Lak provincial child sponsoring fund and Operation Smile Vietnam.-VNA
