Paris (VNA) – The French media highlighted the first working day of Prime Minister Edouard Philippe during his Vietnam visit from November 2-4, with a number of economic contracts signed.

Newspapers such as Le Figaro, La Croix, Ouest-France, Le Point, L’Observateur, Le Telegramme, economic magazines Boursorama, Boursier and television channels France 24, BFMTV all reported the signing of economic deals worth up to 10 billion EUR on November 2, especially Vietjet’s order of 50 Airbus aircraft valued at 5.7 billion EUR.

The Le Figaro said France could tap opportunities from Vietnam, a Southeast Asian country with a 95-million population and an annual economic growth of nearly 7 percent.

The volume of made-in-France goods in Vietnam remains modest at under 1 percent of the market, behind Italy and only half of that from Germany.

It said the Pacific and Indian Ocean axis under the auspices of President Emmanuel Macron is part of Hanoi’s priority diplomatic policy, adding that France’s messages calling for respect for maritime law and navigation freedom in the Pacific and Indian Ocean have yielded fruits.-VNA
