Full-time legislators to scrutinise several draft laws

The 29th session of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee will take place for one and a half day, starting January 8, according to the NA Office.

Hanoi (VNA) – The 29th sessionof the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee will take place for one and ahalf day, starting January 8, according to the NA Office.

NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue will attend and deliverhis opening remarks, the office said.

The full-time legislators are scheduled to opine ona verification report on the draft revised Land Law, and another on the draftLaw on Credit Institutions (amended), along with the interpretation of provisionsin Clause 1, Article 6 of the Law on Public Investment.

They will also look into the draft resolution onsome specific mechanisms and policies to remove obstacles to and speed up theimplementation of national target programmes.

Other important matters to be tabled for discussion includethe supplementation of the mid-term public investment plan for the centralbudget for 2021 – 2025 from the common reserve, and the supplementation of the mid-termpublic investment plan for Vietnam Electricity (EVN) from the reserve of the mid-termpublic investment plan.

The legislators will work on preparations for the 5th extraordinary meeting of the 15th legislature, and personnelissues./.

Tenth Vietnam–China border defence friendship exchange to feature innovations

Australian expert hails performance of 15th NA, People’s Councils at all levels

During the 15th term, NA deputies raised a number of critical issues with government ministers during question time regarding environmental protection, land administration, and food safety. Vietnam, Laos strengthen defence cooperation

General Nguyen Tan Cuong proposed both sides continue effectively implementing the agreed cooperation areas, including holding high-level delegation exchanges, maintaining consultation and dialogue mechanisms, and coordinating to successfully organise the annual meeting of the defence ministers of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
