Gang caught while smuggling drugs from Cambodia

Police from Ho Chi Minh City and southwestern Tay Ninh province have arrested four people for allegedly trying to smuggle four kilogrammes of methamphetamine and ecstasy across the border from Cambodia into Tay Ninh.

- Policefrom Ho Chi Minh City and southwestern Tay Ninh province have arrested fourpeople for allegedly trying to smuggle four kilogrammes of methamphetamine andecstasy across the border from Cambodia into Tay Ninh.

Ngo Thi Thanh Mai, 20, from Ba Ria-VungTau province; Nguyen Xuan Hai, 45, from Dong Nai province; Bui Minh Bao, 45, fromHCM City; and Vuong Quoc Thai, a Vietnamese Australian were carrying thedrugs by car when they were stopped.

They were heading for HCM City,the police said. Further investigations into the case are underway.

Traffickers often bring drugs bymotorbike at night across the border into Vietnam, and flee into Cambodia whenaccosted by authorities.-VNA
