Hanoi (VNA) –
Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Phan Van Giang received Vladimir Ivanovich Korolev, Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, in Hanoi on December 5.

At the reception, Giang, also Deputy Defence Minister, highlighted robust growth of Vietnam – Russia defence relations, particularly in naval cooperation.

He said he believes the ties would be strengthened and further develop toward effectiveness.

Admiral Vladimir Ivanovich Korolev informed his host of outcomes of the recent talks between Vietnamese and Russian navies.

He called for both sides to increase exchanges and naval collaboration in contribution to sound relationship between the two countries and their armies.

Commending the outcomes of the talks, Giang said he wants Vietnamese and Russian navies to continue stepping up efficient cooperation.

He stated that the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army would create all possible conditions for the expansion of their engagements in the future.-VNA
