Gia Lai to host int’l U19 football tournament
The International U19 Thanh Nien Newspaper Cup 2018 will take place at the Pleiku Stadium in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai from March 22-30.

The information was released by the Vietnam Football Federation and the Thanh Nien Media Corporation at a press conference in Pleiku city on March 19.
The tournament will see the participation of five teams, including U19 Vietnam, U19 Hoang Anh Gia Lai, U19 Seoul FC from the Republic of Korea, U19 Mito Hollyhock from Japan and U19 Chonburi from Thailand.
The teams are competing in a round robin format which will decide the top two for the final match and the next two for the third-place playoff. The champion will receive 10,000 USD in prize money.
This is the second consecutive year the event has been held in Vietnam. Last year, it took place in Nha Trang city, the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa, with U19 Vietnam being the champion.
The tournament offers an opportunity to young players to sharpen their skills and get more experience while helping discover talents for Vietnamese football.-VNA
