Hanoi (VNA) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh underlined the determination to build a clean and strong Party organisation of the Government while delivering the closing remarks of the first meeting of the Government’s Party Committee in the 2020-2025 tenure on February 5 afternoon.

Participants in the meeting listened to the Politburo's decisions on the establishment of the Government's Party Organisation, and appointments to the Government's Party Committee, its Standing Board, and its leadership.

They discussed the perfection of the apparatuses of subordinate Party organisations and committees, the working regulations of the Government's Party Committee, tasks for members of the Committee and its Standing Board, along with the 2025 agenda. A resolution of the meeting was approved.

In his speech, PM Chinh, who is also a Politburo member and Secretary of the Government's Party Committee, assessed that the Politburo’s decisions as well as the regulations, action plans, and task assignments adopted at the event serve as a crucial political foundation enabling the committee to institutionalise the Party’s five organisational and operational principles, as well as its five leadership methods, into concrete regulations defining the committee's functions, duties, power, work processes, and coordination mechanisms.

The leader underscored the importance of aligning the leardership of the Government's Party Committee with the guidelines and directions of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat to effectively implement the Government’s 2025 theme of discipline, responsibility, proactiveness, timeliness, streamlining, efficiency, acceleration and breakthrough.

He told the committee stay committed to the Party's mission of leading the revolution, maintain close ties with the people, and put the people's interests above all. The PM also asked for continued development of the theoretical mindset about the path towards socialism, the socialist-oriented market economy development model, the building of a law-governed socialist state, national defence, security, foreign affairs, and other key areas.

The Government's Party Organisation needs to actively help develop the Party's theories, he requested.

PM Chinh urged efforts to build a clean and strong Party organisation of the Government, resolutely deal with any cadre or Party member showing degradation in political thought, morality or lifestyle, self-evolution, and self-transformation, promote examination and supervision to uphold discipline, and push ahead with the combat against corruption, wastefulness, and negative phenomena, helping enhance the people's trust in the Party and the Government.

It is also necessary to build a streamlined, efficient, and effective Government apparatus that meets the requirements in the new era, he went on, adding that the Government's Party Organisation needs to strengthen policy communications and public outreach to secure social consensus. It must resolutely counter wrongful acts and distortions by hostile forces while ensuring timely response to public concerns.

Highlighting the critical role of leadership over the implementation of political tasks, the PM instructed the committee to rigorously carry out the Party and National Assembly's resolutions, particularly those on the three strategic breakthroughs in infrastructure, institutional perfection, and human resources development, as well as the six focal tasks and 12 major solutions outlined in the 13th National Party Congress's Resolution.

He noted that 2025 is the final year for implementing the five-year plan 2021 - 2025 and marks major anniversaries of the country. It is also the time for all-level Party congresses ahead of the 14th National Party Congress and the continued restructuring of the political system's apparatus. With new responsibilities and activeness since the year's beginning, the Government's Party Organisation will successfully realise tasks and the set targets, joining hands with the whole country to excellently fulfil the duties for 2025 with results better the last year's and enter a new era./.
