Government provides more rice aid for central provinces

Hanoi (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has decided toprovide 6,500 tonnes of rice from the national reserve for four centralprovinces to assist people affected by the recent flooding.

Under Decision 1676/QD-TTg, Quang Binh will receive 2,500 tonnes of rice,Quang Tri 2,000 tonnes, and Thua Thien-Hue and Quang Nam each 1,000 tonnes.

Since October 6,downpours brought by storms Linfa and Nangka caused record flooding and seriouslandslides on a wide scale in the central region. As of October 25, the deathtoll during the disaster reached 130, with 18 still missing. Some 7 millionpeople have been affected./.

Two wanted for abusing religious cover to undermine national unity policy

The fugitives are Di (also known as Siu Di), born in 1941, and Dinh Yum (also known as Dinh Jum or Ba Koih), born in 1963, from Ba Na ethnic minority group in Gia Lai province, and hold Vietnamese nationality. They have been charged under Clause 1, Article 116 of the Penal Code for undermining the national unity policy.

Support delivered to Khmer households for traditional New Year
