Ha Nam opens courses training skilled labourer for Japanese firms

The Ha Nam Vocational College in the northern province of Ha Nam on July 15 opened vocational training courses designed specifically to meet the demand of Japanese enterprises operating in the locality.

Theseare first courses in the framework of a project which aims to train1,000 skilled workers for Japanese firms in the period of 2014-2016,focusing on industrial electrical engineering, automotive technology andwelding.

They will also take lessons on Japanese language andculture as well as the 5S quality management system, which is usuallyapplied in Japanese firms.

Nakagawa Ryoichi, director of theInvestment Support Centre of Japan said these courses are the first ofits kind in the country, which are hoped to provide Japanese businesseswith workers who have both skills and thorough knowledge of Japan’scorporate culture.

In order to ensure the quality of the courses,the school invited Japanese experts working in companies in thelocality to join in teaching.-VNA

Phu Tho: 200kg bomb safely relocated, detonated

According to a report by the Phu Tho Military Command, local residents spotted the bomb on August 31 in the Da River after the river water receded, exposing it beneath mud and soil on the riverbed. The bomb remained intact, including its fuse, and was located about 300m from a residential area.

Shift to data-driven administrative procedures needs acceleration

Under a draft decree replacing Decree 63, authorities will have to proactively pull information from databases and records for informational or technical procedures.
