Hai Phong (VNA) - Convenienttransportation infrastructure is one of the important factors to draw high-endtourists to Cat Ba island in the northern port city of Hai Phong.

In the first nine months of 2019, the districtwelcomed 2.5 million tourists, a year-on-year rise of 12 percent, including626,600 foreigners.

The total revenue from tourism services inJanuary-September exceeded 1.4 trillion VND (60.3 million USD), up 15 percentagainst the same period last year.

The People’s Committee of Cat Hai district,where Cat Ba island is located, is working with Hai Phong city to implement aproject on building Cat Ba island into an international tourist centrethrough 2025.

Domestic airlines have opened routes beween HaiPhong and other localities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Da Lat,Buon Me Thuot, Pleiku, and Nha Trang, as well as countries like China, theRepublic of Korea and Thailand.
