Hai Phong’s investment appeal is underpinned by a rapidly expanding development space, including the Southern Coastal Economic Zone covering more than 20,000 hectares, a planned free trade zone, deep-water ports at Lach Huyen, and 12 industrial parks newly established in 2025.

Campaign raises awareness against illegal fishing at Bach Long Vy port

During the event, authorities distributed 425 leaflets outlining IUU rules and key responsibilities for vessel owners and crews, including: obtaining proper licenses, displaying the Vietnamese flag while at sea, actively protecting maritime sovereignty, maintaining order at sea, and avoiding prohibited practices such as destroying marine resources, ecosystems, or fishing in restricted areas.

Hai Phong unveils free trade zone to drive hi-tech, green growth

Spanning roughly 6,292 ha across non-contiguous sites tied to the Dinh Vu - Cat Hai Economic Zone (EZ) and the Southern Hai Phong coastal economic zone, Hai Phong's FTZ will feature designated areas for production, port and logistics operations, logistics centres, trade, services, and others.

Hai Phong port looks to global trends with strategic development plan

From 2025 to 2030, Hai Phong aims to complete the development of international gateway ports at Lach Huyen and Nam Do Son, capable of receiving large container vessels. Plans also include logistics hubs and inland ports linked to road, rail and air networks; a free trade zone connected to seaports; digital transformation and AI applications in management; and the development of green and smart ports.
