Hai Phong police seizes nearly 3kg of meth

Police of the northern port city of Hai Phong announced on October 29 that they had just busted a major drug trafficking ring and seized 2.95 kilograms of Methamphetamine.

Hai Phong (VNA) – Police of the northern port city of Hai Phongannounced on October 29 that they had just busted a major drug trafficking ringand seized 2.95 kilograms of Methamphetamine.

Giang A Cho, born in 1968 and residing in the northernmountainous province of Son La, and Kha A Dang, born in 1989 and residing inthe northern mountainous province of Hoa Binh, were caught red-handed onOctober 27 evening when transporting the drugs from Son La to Hai Phong forsale.

Giang A Cho is wanted by the Ministry of Public Security forthe illegal smuggling of drugs.

Hai Phong Police’s investigation agency started legalproceedings against the case and holds in custody the two men for further investigation.-VNA

Binh Thuan ramps up measures to combat IUU fishing

According to the Binh Thuan Department of Agriculture and Environment, the province has completed registration for all “three-no” fishing boats - vessels without registration, licences or monitoring systems - measuring six metres or more. About 2,710 such vessels have been registered, meeting 100% of the ministry’s requirements and 2,012 operational vessels have been fitted with VMS devices.

Vietnam, US hold 169th repatriation ceremony for American MIA servicemen

At the ceremony, Vietnam handed over four boxes containing remains recovered during recent joint excavations in Hue city, and Quang Tri and Kon Tum provinces. Preliminary forensic analysis on April 15 suggested the remains may belong to US MIAs and they will be sent to Hawaii for further identification.
