Hanoi: 669 cases of dengue fever recorded

Hanoi has reported 669 cases of dengue fever this year, a rise of 26 percent year-on-year, announced the city’s Preventive Medicine Department.

Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi has reported 669 cases of dengue fever this year, a riseof 26 percent year-on-year, announced the city’s Preventive MedicineDepartment.

Thedisease has occurred in 26 districts, with no fatalities. Dong Da, Hoang Mai,Hai Ba Trung and Thanh Xuan districts have the highest number of infections.

Fromstart of the year, Dong Da district has recorded 165 cases in 18 wards, triplingthat of the same period last year.

Local districts and wards have been directed to stepup measures to tackle dengue fever. Local authorities have also been asked toraise public awareness about the disease.

The city’s health sector needs to improve themonitoring of patients, mosquito density to promptly detect outbreaks and spraychemicals in high-risk areas.-VNA

Sharp tobacco tax hike urged to safeguard youths, community health

Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer

Under the agreement, VNVC and Sanofi will gradually implement technology transfers to enable domestic production of several key Sanofi vaccines that are widely used in Vietnam. In addition, Sanofi will support VNVC in training human resources and quality management in vaccine research and manufacturing.

Enhanced anti-COVID-19 measures in place amid rising cases
