Themed “The Quintessence of the Vietnamese Ao dai,” the festival saw the participation of famous fashion designers, artisans and artists nationwide, introducing to local people throughout the country and international friends the beauty of the traditional long dress of Thang Long–Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general.
Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy, who is also head of the festival’s organising board, stressed that the event was among activities to implement Hanoi’s policies to turn tourism into a key economic sector for the capital during the 2016-2020 period and in the following years.
