Hanoi (VNA) –
The Hanoi JournalistsAssociation had a working session with its Korean counterpart and the AsiaToday media group on July 24 to discuss bilateral cooperation.

Chairman of Asia Today WooJong Soon said the Korean press agency will soon open a representative officein Hanoi and hopes the city will support the group’s activities.

He added that the image of Vietnam has been broughtcloser to Korean people, and Asia Today will work harder to contribute tofriendly relations between Vietnam and the RoK.

To Quang Phan, Chairman of the Hanoi JournalistAssociation, general director and editor-in-chief of Hanoi Radio and TelevisionStation, said the association will create the best conditions for the Koreangroup to operate.

He announced that press agencies in Hanoi havecooperative relations with various Korean counterparts, adding the associationhas more than 1,000 members working in 18 press agencies.

The official said he hopes the two sides willenhance cooperation, especially supporting investment to develop new technologyin press activities, as well as promote traditional cultural values of the twocountries and capitals.

Phan also called on the two sides to join handsto address challenges that the press is facing, given the strong development ofsocial networks.-VNA

Vietnamese, Chinese cities to build smart border gate pair

They also consented to promote the development of a cross-border economic cooperation zone through sectoral cooperation at Hai Yen industrial park, Van Ninh international port in Mong Cai; a cross-border e-commerce industrial park; and transport connectivity projects between the two cities including the international railway line from Mong Cai to Dongxing, Bac Luan III bridge, and an auxiliary rough steel bridge.
