Hanoi (VNA) – The Hanoi Journalists Association had a working session with its Korean counterpart and the Asia Today media group on July 24 to discuss bilateral cooperation.
Chairman of Asia Today Woo Jong Soon said the Korean press agency will soon open a representative office in Hanoi and hopes the city will support the group’s activities.
He added that the image of Vietnam has been brought closer to Korean people, and Asia Today will work harder to contribute to friendly relations between Vietnam and the RoK.
To Quang Phan, Chairman of the Hanoi Journalist Association, general director and editor-in-chief of Hanoi Radio and Television Station, said the association will create the best conditions for the Korean group to operate.
He announced that press agencies in Hanoi have cooperative relations with various Korean counterparts, adding the association has more than 1,000 members working in 18 press agencies.
The official said he hopes the two sides will enhance cooperation, especially supporting investment to develop new technology in press activities, as well as promote traditional cultural values of the two countries and capitals.
Phan also called on the two sides to join hands to address challenges that the press is facing, given the strong development of social networks.-VNA
