The Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) and the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) on July 2 signed a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooopeation.

The MoU, which will usher in a new chapter in cooperation between the HNX and the HKEx, was signed by HNX Deputy Director General Nguyen Vu Quang Trung and HKEx Chief Operation Officer Gerald Greiner in Hong Kong ( China ).

It was witnessed by Vietnamese Consul-General in Hong Kong and Macau ( China ) Pham Cao Phong and HKEx Chairman Ronald Arculli.

This was a significant development for Vietnam ’s stock market, Trung said.

He added that Vietnam can learn experiences in the field from Hong Kong, which has long been regarded the leading financial centre in Asia and the world, as well as draw more Hong Kong investors to the country.

The HKEx executives showed their interest in the Vietnamese stock market, which, as they said, is of high potential./.
