Ten outstanding citizens and 1,002 individuals in the movement of “Good people, good deeds” of Hanoi were honoured at a ceremony on Oct. 8 as part of activities to mark the 58 th anniversary of the capital’s Liberation Day (Oct. 10).
This is the third time the capital awarded the title of outstanding citizens to honour individuals who have made significant contributions to the city’s construction and development.
Among the list are Senior Lieutenant Colonel Le Duc Doan from the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, Professor Doctor Nguyen Tai Thu, Chairman of the Vietnam Acupuncture Association and Nguyen Thi Hien, a worker from Hanoi Sewage and Drainage Company.
Dinh The Huynh, Politburo member, head of the Commission for Popularisation and Education of the Communist Party of Vietnam’s Central Committee asked Hanoi to focus the patriotic emulation campaigns on fulfilling specific tasks of each sector and each locality, contributing to building Hanoi into a modern and developed city.-VNA
