Hanoi hosts international seminar on Uncle Ho

An international seminar entitled “President Ho Chi Minh’s heritage in today’s age” will be held in Hanoi from May 12-13 to mark the 120 th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, the Vietnamese hero of national liberation and a prominent cultural celebrity (May 19, 1890-2010).

So said the Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Public Administration, Le Huu Nghia, head of the seminar’s steering board, at a press conference in Hanoi on May 7.

According to the Organising Committee, the seminar aims to highlight the great contributions and profound significance of his thoughts, career and lifelong struggle for the nation’s liberation and socialist revolution as well as for peace, independence, democracy and Vietnam ’s development.

Nearly 150 articles by Vietnamese authors, including many leaders of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government and Fatherland Front, will be presented at the seminar.

International delegates from 22 countries will also take part in the event.

All the articles mention the President’s thoughts, life and career and focus on three main topics: Ho Chi Minh heritage on national independence and socialism, Ho Chi Minh heritage on peace, friendship and cooperation amongst nations and the culture, morals and dignity in Ho Chi Minh’s heritage.

The seminar’s opening ceremony will be broadcast live on VTV1./.
