The capital city aims to generate 636 million USD monthly from exports until the end of December with the aim of posting an export value of 6.94 USD billion for the year, according to the municipal Department of Industry and Trade.

To reach the goal, the city would continue fostering export of advantaged goods such as agricultural products, electrical and electronic goods, clothing and footwear.

The city would also focus on developing groups of products which are a small part of the export structure, such as wooden goods, construction materials, bags and suitcases and handicraft, but have high added value and export potential.

While helping local businesses promote their exports to markets in the US, EU, Japan, China and ASEAN, which have purchasing power and high growth rates, the city would also encourage them to seek new trade outlets in regions like Africa, the Middle East and western and southern Asia.

The city would work alongside authorities to streamline administrative procedures, especially for tax and customs, and co-ordinate with overseas Vietnamese trade offices and domestic and foreign trade promotion organisations to help firms enter trade fairs and exhibitions.

It would also help enterprises study opportunities and seek new trading partners in potential markets like the EU, Cambodia and Japan.

Assistance to build and develop firms’ trademarks would be available. Frequently organised meetings between local and foreign businesses would help local firms boost contacts and foster exports./.
