Hanoi works hard to lure more visitors

As a gateway for tourists to come to Vietnam, Hanoi has rolled out initiatives to lure more travelers, focusing on diversifying cultural activities and promoting coordination between sectors to support the tourism industry.

Hanoi (VNA) – As a gateway for tourists to come to Vietnam, Hanoi has rolled out initiatives to lure more travelers, focusing on diversifying cultural activities and promoting coordination between sectors to support the tourism industry.

The industry and trade, and agricultural and rural development sectors have been tasked with developing specialised cultivation areas for producing high-quality OCOP products, and establishing craft villages for tourism.

Hanoi’s historical sites have welcomed over 1.3 million visitors so far this year, earning 70.4 billion VND (nearly 2.8 million USD), reaching 93.9% of the plan set for the year.

A series of art performance programmes have been held to serve political and diplomatic tasks, attracting over 270,000 audiences, and raking in over 24 billion VND.

The Hanoi Museum, where various exhibitions have been held, served 39,700 visitors in the first four months of 2024.

Thanks to various innovative forms for promoting tourism, the number of tourist arrivals to the capital city has significantly increased in the last four months, reaching over 157,000 foreign visitors and 571,000 domestic ones, up 59.8% and 19.1%, respectively.

To attract more visitors, the Hanoi tourism sector is developing products associated with heritage, relic sites, and craft villages, and others based on the strengths of each locality, like sports tourism in the outlying district of Soc Son, and community and medical tourism in Soc Son and Ba Vi districts.

The city has also set up connectivity with other cities and provinces such as Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Son La, Lao Cai, and Lai Chau to form travel routes where their key, reciprocal products are brought into full play.

Attention has also been paid to tourism digitalisation, covering information about tourist sites, services, and markets./.

Da Nang welcomes first flight from Vladivostok

According to the plan, the programme will run from April 16 to October 23, connecting eight cities across Russia, the CIS, and Belarus with Da Nang. The total number of visitors is expected to reach approximately 25,500, with a maximum frequency of 36 flights per month, equivalent to around 4,800 passengers monthly.

Administrative expansion unlocks new momentum for tourism development

Nguyen Thi Hoai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang, said the expansion of administrative boundaries has opened up new development space for the province, with key tourism products including cultural-historical tourism, ethnic cultural experiences, community-based tourism linked to scenic sites, spiritual tourism, and other distinctive experiential offerings.

Vietnam’s tourism defies fuel price shock with record Q1 “hat-trick”

According to data released by the National Statistics Office, foreign arrivals in March reached nearly 2.1 million, up 1.3% year-on-year. In total, Vietnam welcomed an estimated 6.76 million foreign tourists in the first quarter, a more than 12% jump from the same period in 2025 and the highest Q1 figure ever recorded.

Technology powers tourism growth in mountainous province

Last year, Tuyen Quang welcomed over 3.9 million visitors, and is aiming to attract around 4.1 million arrivals, including around 600,000 foreigners, this year. Cultural heritage drives sustainable tourism growth in Ninh Binh

In the first two months of 2026, Ninh Binh welcomed over 5.4 million visitors, up 9.9% year-on-year, generating nearly 5.84 trillion VND (221 million USD) in tourism revenue, up 15.9%. During the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday alone, the province received 2.38 million visitors, an 81.4% increase from the previous year, ranking second nationwide.
