HCM City: FDI enterprise pays highest Tet bonus of nearly 1.3 billion VND
The highest bonus for the upcoming Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday has been reported at 1.3 billion VND (nearly 57,000 USD) in a foreign-invested business in Ho Chi Minh City, according to the municipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs

Results from a survey by the department of more than 1,000 businesses that are employing nearly 175,000 workers in the city shows that despite many difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many local businesses still try to give Tet bonuses to their employees.
According to Le Minh Tan, Director of the department, this year’s Tet bonus in the city is averagely 4.2 million VND (over 184 USD), down more than half compared to the Lunar New Year 2021.
Apart from the bonus, local enterprises have planned other forms of pre-Tet support for their workers like gifts and train/bus/flight tickets for returning home, Tan said .
For employees staying in HCM to celebrate Tet, businesses and trade unions will organize year-end celebrations, and visit and give gifts to those with difficult circumstances./.
