HCM City, France cooperate in anti-corruption

HCM City (VNA) – Vice Chairman of the Ho ChiMinh City People’s Committee Huynh Cach Mang has expressed his hope that theFrench Anti-corruption Agency (FAA) and the HCM City Inspectorate willcooperate with each other and exchange experience in the fight againstcorruption.

At a reception for FAA Director Charles Duchaine in HCM City on January 18, the official said the partnershipbetween the two sides is expected to contribute to socio-economic developmentin each country.

Mang expressed his delight at the fruitful development ofthe Vietnam-France relations, especially after the two countries agreed to lifttheir ties to a strategic partnership in 2013.

The relationship between HCM City and France is also developingstrongly, particularly cooperation between southern metropolis and Frenchlocalities in economy, culture, arts and people-to-people exchange, he said.

For his part, Charles Duchaine said that France and Vietnam needto support each other in order to improve their anti-corruption capacity.

Lauding the local authority’s political determination in thecombat, the FAA Director noted his hope that the FAA and the municipal Inspectoratewill implement their cooperation programmes and materialise the memorandum ofunderstanding on cooperation in this field signed by the French agency and theVietnam Government Inspectorate recently.-VNA
