HCM City (VNA) – Permanent Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem has expressed wish that Belarus would share its experience with the city in dealing with flooding and urban transport.
During a reception in Ho Chi Minh City on March 30 for Belarusian Deputy Minister of Industry Aleksandr Ogorodnikov, Liem said the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union, including Belarus, which took effect last year, has provided a springboard for the two countries to lift two-way trade.
Speaking highly of fruitful results of bus manufacturing cooperation between Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation and Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) of Belarus, Liem noted that the city is willing to offer all possible support to MAZ and other Belarusian firms to do long-term and effective business there.
The host agreed that both sides would partner together in fields of Belarus’s strength such as subway construction technology, training of agricultural engineers and trade connectivity, especially in dairy and meat products.
Ogorodnikov, in reply, affirmed that Belarus always facilitates all-around cooperation with Vietnamese localities, particularly between twinning cities of Minsk and Ho Chi Minh City.
Hailing Ho Chi Minh City’s development potential, the guest said Belarusian enterprises are ready to share experience in the construction of subway and underground facilities, industrial waste treatment, and manufacturing of buses and specialised vehicles used in urban clean-up.-VNA
