– Nguyen Thien Nhan, Politburo member and Secretary of HoChi Minh City’s Party Committee, on June 19 hosted a reception for outgoingGerman Ambassador to Vietnam Christian Berger.

Heapplauded the diplomat’s contributions to promoting cooperation betweenVietnam and Germany, citing the completion of the German House, effectivebilateral educational cooperation and the construction of metro LineNo. 2 in the city during his tenure in the Southeast Asiannation.

Theofficial pledged to address remaining issues in the bilateral ties and urgedthe envoy to contribute more to the Vietnam-Germanyrelationship in the time ahead.

Forhis part, Christian Berger said the above-mentioned projects have contributedto consolidating the Vietnam-Germany strategic partnership.

Hecommitted to working with his successorto push ahead with the implementation of the ongoing projects, and encouragingGerman businesses to invest in new projects in Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.-VNA
