HCM City (VNA) – Vice Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong hosted a reception in the city on November 16 for a delegation of the Cambodian People’s Party.

Welcoming the delegation, Phong, who is also a Party Central Committee member, spoke highly of the achievements Cambodian people have made in the reign of King Norodom Sihamoni and under the CPP leadership, increasing its profile in the international arena.

The vice secretary said the traditional ties and comprehensive cooperation between the two neighbouring countries have made strong progress with regular high-level delegation exchange.

Ho Chi Minh City hoped to further expand collaboration with Cambodian localities, he said, highlighting several notable joint projects, including the construction of the Cho Ray Hospital in Phnom Penh.

For his part, the head of the Cambodian delegation, deputy head of the CPP External Relations Commission Sous Yara noted that Cambodia has worked hard to strengthen the relations between the two parties and governments.

He hoped that HCM City, as Vietnam’s largest southern economic hub, would act as a bridge to foster cooperation for development between not only the two nations but also cities in the region.-VNA
