HCM City (VNA) – The Ho Chi Minh City Police said on June 2 they had uncovered a massive production and distribution network of amphetamine pills, seizing 4,000 pills and various tools and chemicals for production.
The ring was led by Dang Hoang Minh, born in 1985, a resident in Go Vap district.
Suspecting Minh supplied the drug to a number of hotspots in the city, local police followed him and located his production facility at a rented house in District 12’s Dong Hung Thuan street.
On May 31, Minh was arrested while riding his scooter in Go Vap district. Searching his room at a hotel in Go Vap, the police found 1,000 pills hidden in a box placed at the room’s vent-hole. Another search at the house Minh hired in District 12 discovered 3,000 more pills, and drug-making material and machines.
