A project to expand Thu Duc Water Plant, phase III, (Thu Duc 3 Water Plant) with a total investment of 1.2 trillion VND (around 60 million USD), began in Ho Chi Minh City on April 9.

Once completed in June 2014, the plant, which covers three hectares in the City’s Thu Duc district, will supply 300,000 cubic meters of safe water a day for about 600,000 households.

It will join the Saigon Water Corporation (Sawaco)’s water supply system in supplying the entire city with 2.1 million cubic meters per day by 2015 from the current 1.5 million cubic meters level.-VNA
