A high-end resort, “Sol House” with a capacity of 260 rooms and suites, will be opened on Phu Quoc Island in 2016.

A document to this effect was signed between the M.I.K Corporation and Melia Hotels International (MHI) at a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on March 26.

At the signing ceremony, M.I.K Deputy General Director Pham Thanh Tuan said the agreement will contribute to improving the quality of tourist services on the island as well as the overall Vietnamese tourism reputation.

MHI Deputy Chairman in the Asian-Pacific region, Bernardo Cabot hailed the unique beauty of the island with its pristine beaches and improved infrastructure facilities.

Sol House will bring value to the ‘Pearl Island’, he added.

M.I.K is among the top investors in high-end estate development in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. It has also invested in numerous five-star resorts and villas in Phu Quoc and Phan Thiet city in central Binh Thuan province.

Phu Quoc is the largest of the 25 islands forming Phu Quoc district in southern Kien Giang province.

The Pearl Island greeted over 580,000 tourists in 2014, including nearly 125,000 foreigners.

The island now offers over 4,000 hotel rooms which can accommodate 7,000-8,000 guests.-VNA
