Experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has sharedexperience on the management of nuclear power plant project involving inthe Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) contract with Vietnameserelevant agencies.
At a seminar held in PhanRang-Thap Cham city of the central coastal province of Ninh Thuanon September 23, the foreign experts analysed the risks andeffectiveness brought by the EPC contract, the importance of earlyappraisal and risk distribution, safety management of nuclear powerplant and so on.
The seminar, a part of the IAEAcooperation technical project, aimed to help Vietnam in building itsfirst nuclear power plant in the province.
Theexperts also shared other countries’ experiences on the duties andresponsibilities in an EPC contract and lessons learnt from recentnuclear power plants.
Those from France, Finlandand Canada also talked about nuclear insurance, the relations betweeninvestors, contractors, consultants and local authorities and theprocurement, design appraisal, licensing and construction supervisionprocess.-VNA
