Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on March 15 said there had not been conclusive evidence to confirm that the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 had been hijacked.

However, he stated that the plane returned to the last location recorded by civilian radar and a signal received by the Malaysian military radar north of the Strait of Malacca was from the missing aircraft.

Speaking at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur , the leader said the communication systems on the plane had been disabled immediately before it reached the east coast of the Malaysian Peninsula.

There was strong evidence that the plane was deliberately shifted from its planned course, and Malaysian authorities are focusing their investigation on the crew and passengers on board. PM Razak also said there is the possibility that after disappearing, the plane moved in two directions: from Thailand to the border of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan , or from Indonesia to the Indian Ocean.

Malaysian authorities have decided to halt the search for the aircraft in the East Sea and to focus their efforts in the Indian Ocean.-VNA
