India implements quick impact projects in eight more Vietnamese localities

The Indian Embassy in Vietnam on October 27 signed memoranda of understanding on cooperation in implementing the Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) with the People’s Committees of Hai Phong city, and Ha Tinh, Khanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri and Tuyen Quang provinces.

Hanoi (VNA) – The Indian Embassy in Vietnam on October 27 signed memoranda of understanding on cooperation in implementing the Quick Impact Projects (QIPs) with the People’s Committees of Hai Phong city, and Ha Tinh, Khanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri and Tuyen Quang provinces.

Addressing the virtual signing ceremony, Indian Ambassador Pranay Verma acknowledged the success of QIPs in Vietnam, affirming their usefulness in bringing about rapid changes at the grassroots level.

The diplomat said that cooperation between his embassy and local authorities in the on-time implementation of these projects demonstrates the strength of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Vietnam, and contributes to Vietnam’s joint efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Quang Binh province Ho An Phong thanked the Indian Government and embassy for carrying out QIPs in Vietnam.

He appreciated the benefits brought about by sub-projects to remote and disadvantageous areas in Vietnam, especially in basic education infrastructure, roads, irrigation and water supply, thus contributing to local authorities’ socio-economic development efforts.

Earlier, the Indian Embassy signed memoranda of two understanding on the implementation of QIPs in Yen Bai and Lao Cai provinces.

With the 10 new projects, India has to date conducted 37 QIPs in 33 provinces and cities, with each worth 50,000 USD./.
