India is ready to cooperate and share experience with Vietnam in preserving domestic animal genes.

The statement was made by the India National Dairy Research Instituteduring a recent visit by a delegation of the Vietnam National Instituteof Animal Husbandry.

At working sessions, the two sides discussed preliminary contents of amemorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation in domestic animalgene preservation.

While in India from Dec. 31 to Jan. 14, the Vietnamese delegationvisited the National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources (NBAGR) and theNational Diary Research Institute in Karnal of Punjab state. Theydiscussed with the Indian counterparts on preservation of domesticanimal genetic resources and application of bio-informatics in thefield./.
