Binh Dinh (VNA) – The 4th Hardware Camp for Fast and Low-Light Detection is being held in Quy Nhon city, the south-central province of Binh Dinh from March 3-8, attracting the participation of over 30 scientists, researchers and postgraduates from the US, Germany, Japan, India, the Czech Republic and Vietnam.
The programme is jointly organised by the Rencontres du Vietnam Association, the International Centre for Interdisciplinary Science and Education, and its Institute for Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Education (IFIRSE).
Several leading scientists in the field, such as Professor Yuichi Oyama from the High Energy Accelerator Research Organisation (KEK), Japan; Professor Atsumu Suzuki from the Kobe University, Japan; and Dr. Michael Holik from the Czech Technical University, the Czech Republic, are directly providing lectures at the programme.
Additionally, there are online lectures by scientists from prestigious domestic and international universities and research institutions, including Dr. Nhan Tran from the US-based Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab); Dr. Guillaume Pronost from the University of Tokyo, Japan; Dr. Nam Tran from the Boston University, the US; Dr. John Paul Cesar from the University of Texas at Austin, the US; Dr. Chau Nguyen from the Siegen University, Germany; and Associate Professor, Dr. Van Nguyen from the Institute of Physics (IOP) under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST).
The participants took part in lectures that provided knowledge on particle physics, the nature of light, cosmic rays, and advanced methods for detecting them.
The 4th Hardware Camp also provides in-depth knowledge and hands-on training, helping participants enhance their understanding and skills in weak light detection./.
