India wants to further boost defence and security ties with Vietnam , which it considers an important element in its Look East policy.

Indian Vice President Hamid Ansari made this remarks when talking withthe press on January 14 before leaving India for an official visit toVietnam , which is scheduled for January 15.

Hesaid the two countries have worked closely in the defence and securityfields and India will do its best to support Vietnam in suchfields as hi-tech capacity building and other programmes.

The twocountries have set to increase their two-way trade, which currentlystands at around 4 billion USD, to 7 billion USD in 2015.

Torealise the goal, Vice President Ansari suggested that the twocountries should strengthen cooperation and exchange more visits.-VNA
