Indochina’s world heritage exhibited in Da Nang

The UNESCO office in Vietnam, in conjunction with the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture, opened an exhibition on the World Heritage Sites of Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam in the central city of Da Nang on March 28.

The event also draws the participation of theAngkor National Museum, Preah Vihear Eco-Global Museum, NationalMuseum of Cambodia, and Preah Norodom Sihanouk Museum of Cambodia; andVat Phou Site Museum of Laos.

Entitled “Our Common Heritage: Exploring World Heritage Sites ofCambodia, Laos and Vietnam”, the exhibition features six world heritagesin Indochina, namely Angkor, Preah Vihear, Vat Phou, My Son, Thang LongCitadel and Ho Citadel.

As many as 22 panelshighlighting images and writings on cultural heritage preservationactivities are also on display at the event.

Aspart of the UNESCO/Japanese Funds-in-Trust project “Revitalising WorldHeritage Site Museums for a Better Interpretation of Living HeritageSites in Cambodia , Laos and Vietnam”, the exhibition offers achance for local people and foreign tourists to explore world heritageand the interconnection between the three countries, therefore raisingtheir awareness of the global values of these sites.

Earlier this month, a similar exhibition took place in central Thanh Hoa province.-VNA
