Hanoi (VNA) - At least 60 people are feared to have been buried by a landslide at an illegal gold mine in Sulawesi island of Indonesia.

According to spokesman of the National Agency for Disaster  Management of Indonesia Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, the accident occurred in the Bolaang Mongondow area of North Sulawesi province.

Dozens of people were mining for gold when beams and support boards broke suddenly, he said.

The accident claimed at least one live. Rescuers have to date rescued 13 people.

The search and rescue of missing victims are implemented urgently.-VNA
