Indonesia improves infrastructure preparing for ASEAN Economic Community

The National Development Planning Board (Bappenas) plans to increase infrastructure spending by 2.5 times in 2016, up from 290 trillion IDR (22.5 billion USD) this year. The Government will allocate the increased sum to upgrade power plants, roads and airports nationwide.
According to Director General of the Industrial Estates Development Imam Haryono , 55 trillion IDR (4.27 billion USD) have been dedicated to build supporting facilities for 13 industrial parks outside Java Island over the next five years .
Deputy Chief Suhariyanto from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) regarded the infrastructure advancements as a major factor in achieving the Government’s targeted 5.7 percent economic growth in 2015.-VNA
