Indonesian President Joko Widodo has attended a ceremony to inaugurate Bajo-Golo Mori road in order to improve traffic connectivity in Labuan Bajo, where the ASEAN Summit is planned to be held in this May.

Jakarta (VNA)– Indonesian President Joko Widodo has attended a ceremony to inaugurate Bajo-GoloMori road in order to improve traffic connectivity in Labuan Bajo, where theASEAN Summit is planned to be held inthis May.

Addressing theevent, Widodo said the road is expected to help promote Labuan Bajo as a super-priority tourist destination.

With a total length of 25 km, the access roadwas built with a budget of 481 billion IDR (31 million USD).

This route is also theentrance to the Golo Mori new special economic zone on Labuan Bajo island,contributing to supporting the development of the surrounding area. 

The Indonesian government is rushing to completeinfrastructure facilities such as accommodations and electric bus routes, andtaking measures to ensure security to prepare for the ASEAN Summit and relevantmeetings./.
