Jakarta (VNA) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo has attended a ceremony to inaugurate Bajo-Golo Mori road in order to improve traffic connectivity in Labuan Bajo, where the ASEAN Summit is planned to be held in this May.

Addressing the event, Widodo said the road is expected to help promote Labuan Bajo as a super-priority tourist destination.

With a total length of 25 km, the access road was built with a budget of 481 billion IDR (31 million USD).

This route is also the entrance to the Golo Mori new special economic zone on Labuan Bajo island, contributing to supporting the development of the surrounding area.

The Indonesian government is rushing to complete infrastructure facilities such as accommodations and electric bus routes, and taking measures to ensure security to prepare for the ASEAN Summit and relevant meetings./.
