Jakarta (VNA) – As Chairman of ASEAN and the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC) in 2023, Indonesia has an important role to play in the reform of the health system in Southeast Asia, said ABAC Chair Arsjad Rasjid on April 6.

This innovation is important to economic ASEAN’s recovery and growth after the COVID-19 pandemic, the official said, adding that an up-to-date, dynamic and precise health system is crucial for the health of the Indonesian people and nation, as well as ASEAN in general.

He highlighted the importance of paying attention to five key aspects, namely people, planet, prosperity, peace, and partnership in strengthening the national health system.

Furthermore, Arsjad said that to strengthen the health system and vaccine availability in Southeast Asia, ASEAN-BAC formed a Health Working Group (HWG). The formation of this group was also carried out in celebration of the World Health Day (April 7)./.
