Hanoi (VNA) – The Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission convened its 46th meeting in Hanoi on August 28-29 under the chair of Politburo member and its head Tran Cam Tu.

The commission concluded that the Standing Committee of the provincial Party Committee of the northern province of Bac Giang had violated principles of democratic centralism and working regulations, shown a lack of responsibility, loosened leadership and supervision, resulting in the Party Delegation of the provincial People's Council, the Party Civil Affairs Board of the provincial People's Committee, and many organisations and individuals breaching Party regulations and state laws in several investment projects conducted by Thuan An Group.

Several provincial leaders are also found to have shown degradation in political thought, morality and lifestyle, violating the Anti-Corruption Law and regulations on what Party members must not do, and failing to meet their responsibility to set good examples.

The above violations have resulted in severe consequences, posing significant risks of financial loss and damage to state assets, causing negative public opinion and damaging the reputation of the local Party organisation and authorities, to the extent that disciplinary measures must be taken.

In response, the commission issued warnings to the Party Civil Affairs Board of the provincial People's Committee in the 2021-2026 term, along with Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Anh Duong; Standing Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation and Chairwoman of the provincial Party Committee Le Thi Thu Hong; member of the standing board of the provincial Party Committee, member of the Party Affairs Committee and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le O Pich.

The commission issued a reprimand to the Party Civil Affairs Board of the provincial People's Committee in the 2016-2021 term, the Party Delegation of the provincial People's Council in the 2021-2026 term, and a number of former and incumbent officials.

It suggested that relevant authorities consider disciplinary action against the Standing Committee of the provincial Party Committee in the 2020-2025 tenure.

The commission also decided to give a warning as a disciplinary measure against the Standing Board of the Party Committee of Lai Chai city in the northern province of Lai Chau in the 2015-2020 term, along with a number of former and incumbent key officials of the city for failing to detect breaches of Party regulations and state laws related to land management and use, as well as urban development projects over an extended period, causing serious consequences.

It also considered proposals on disciplinary actions against several Party members for violations in the Party organisations of Hoa Binh province and Ho Chi Minh City./.
