Hanoi (VNA) – Israeli President Reuven Ruvi Rivlin and his spouse attended a Vietnam-Israel friendship concert at the Hanoi Opera House on March 22 night as part of his ongoing visit to Vietnam from March 19-25.
The event also drew Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Meirav Eilon Shahar, Vice President DangThi Ngoc Thinh, Chairman of the President’s Office Dao Viet Trung, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien and Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Hong Nam.
Addressing the opening, Ambassador Meirav Eilon Shahar said that the Israeli President’s visit is made when the Vietnam-Israel relationship is growingfruitfully with close cooperation in diverse areas.
After 24 years of diplomatic ties, the two countries have become important partners in the fields of State diplomacy, economic cooperation and people-to-people exchange, she noted.
Israel is proud to be a partner of Vietnam in knowledge sharing and technology transfer, with a belief that human resourcesare the key factor for sustainable growth of each country, she said, adding that Israel has provided a number of training courses for Vietnam in various fields, including agriculture, water management, food security, education, and business startup.
Meanwhile, Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien also highlighted the development ofthe friendship and collaboration between the two countries over the past 24 years in all fields, including culture and art.
Participants at the concert enjoyed performances of conductor and artists from Israel and the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra under the Vietnam National Academy of Music.-VNA
